This Too

 

I've long appreciated the Taoist/Buddhist teachings of life being a mix of ten thousand joys and ten thousand sorrows.  Life is not without sorrows, and some days they seem to be the dominant force.  And so I find myself saying, "This Too".

This too:  Poetry, beauty, spirit,....peace.   I've been making little lists, stacking words like cairns.  This too: rain, feather, apricot, sky.... This too: nutmeg, basil, saffron, salt.... This too: stillness, silence, wonder, devotion.  These little cairns of words have been gentle reminders for me that although there are many griefs and terrors in the world today, there are these dimensions of living too which fuel our resilience, hope... faith in possibility.  I invite you to try it!
